Female takes off with a scream

15.01 Female is back, yelling at whomever is there
She starts feeding. With her back towards us, so far. Then we have to check their crops later on to see if they have got enough.
Image

Female covered them before I could get a look, I trust her to have stuffed all 3 of them.

Wonderful feeding at around 14.50 until 15.05

Chick #1 and #2 snatched the most of the bites.
Image
Chick #3 found its own way in getting the necessary bites. Just tore it off of the prey beneath Mom's foot. And becoming very handy with it.
Image
A leg of the prey went from 1 chick to the other and probably Mom ate it herself in the end.
Image
they all 3 ate very well, have bulging crops. Mom is away again.

15.25 Mom just started an other feeding!

It's a large prey. #1 already has rolled over, had too much to eat.
Chick #1 taking a break, under sibling's wing.
Image
The too difficult to eat pieces, Mom grabs back
Image
Now #2 is getting the most.
Image
But soon it will be # 3 's turn. #3 ate so much, in the end it turned away from it.
All 3 are flat down, sleeping it off and growing because of it.

By the way, probably the last prey was not a bird but a rodent, it was furry.
Image
And there was a large piece of bone in it on which even Mom almost choked, it was flat and kind of round. (can not find it in my pictures, alas)

Female leaves for a minute and comes back with a spruce twig. Can't have enough of those.... apparently.
Seriously, they must serve a purpose. Otherwise why bring them to the nest?!
