He has grown up, but he does not have visible shoulder straps (white stripes at the base of the wings) like the others.

Hello!

20:57
Bounus and Waba (was it a W or V :puzzled: ) had a short conversation and decided to diss the others.
feather pecking etc til a good place freed to rest.
But Bonus is yet restless, wing flapping is needed.

Good night to everyone!
I'm very very happy to join this forum on this very special day watching the first two storklets flying from their nest. I wish them good luck and hope to watch them further more flying on their journey south. I'm a science teacher from Israel and a part of a teachers' group who are going to teach next year about the influence of the global climate change on the migrating birds, and this site will help us alot. We've already analyzed some changes in the routes of some of the black storks such as Eedi that migrates to Saudi Arabia and has changed his behaviour there due to changes in water supply during winter time. Thanks for all the useful information here & Good night.

I’m so, so happy for these 2 storklets today…but especially Bonus. A huge milestone! Also, at 20:07, some cranes flew over. All 4 storklets watched. They sounded almost identical to our sand hill cranes. Does anyone know the species? Thank you

Thank you very much. I looked up a picture of them. Aside from the tail feathers in the picture I saw, they are almost identical to our sand hill cranes. Thank you again!!

Good evening Joe, :hi:
yes it is common!
northern crane breeding area: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia!

here where I live there are up to 80,000 of them in spring and autumn. I see them all year round! But only a few are seen during the breeding season. They come from the south in spring and, after strengthening, move to the northern breeding grounds. In the fall they come back to the feeding grounds . A grandiose spectacle in the sky and in the fields

i photograph them and other migratory birds
