August 14

Good Morning everyone! :hi:

Swenja, thanks for the evening report!

today the Storklets are 84 (Bonus), 78, 78 and 75 days old.

2018 In a nest with 4 chicks, the Storklets left the nest for good, at an age of 80-83 days
storklets that started migration at all (from 27 tagged), the mean age of start of migration is at least 89.7 days, min. 73.4, max 142.2 days.

Yesterday late evening! Regarding the question I received! Here the answer: They hunt themselves when they see something edible
A beetle landed in the nest. Voog tried to grab him, but the bug fled to the right. Bonus saw him, he grabbed and ate the bug!
Interesting! They can also see in the dark

4:41:50 wich bird is whistling? :puzzled:
5:13 Iks cast a pellet

5:33 Iks flew to the left
5:35 Waba flew to the left
5:37 Bonus out to the left
5:37 Voog out to the left

BTW: Balistar :hi: Storks are not listed when searched under the term throat pouch.
Maris S describes the "throat pouch", which probably isn't one in storks, as a beak sac!

fish! nice size fishes :D
Image

I'm happy that all have eaten well! thick necks with all
Image

Big thank to the basket filler :loveshower:

video Speed 0,5 (it's enough, lots of fish)
They eat so incredibly fast that you can't see the amount of food without slow motion. I think speed 03, would have been better!

6:33 Bonus out
6:36 Iks out
6:37 Waba out

6:58 Voog back home
6:59 in a hurry out to the left
7:01 Waba returned and gasps! Flights are exhausting
7:11 Waba flew out again
7:12 Iks came in from the right
7:13 Waba is back!
They train their flight muscles. It seems very tiring for Waba? Breathing with beak open. But I saw that in other juveniles too
