Birdfriend no pip, not yet
NEWS: Updated 27th September.
THREE EGGS have been laid between 26th and 28th August. Videos available.
HATCH DATE: Time from first egg to first hatch varies from 36 to 39 days at this site, so expect first hatch on or after 1st October. You might first hear quiet calls from within the egg a few days prior to hatching. Then you will see a 'pip' or a small hole or crack. From this time to full hatch usually takes 24 to 72 hours. The chick has a special egg tooth to help it cut itself out and a powerful hatching muscle at the back of its head (both of which disappear after hatching).

Yes, I know, but this one egg faked a bit. It looked like a little hole.

i was as quiet as a mouse, but she still knew I was there. I wouldn't have done it with Xavier on the eggs as he is much more likely to leave.
I usually clean the others as well, but to do that, I have to put my hand in the box, when she might well leave, so very pleased that I don't have to do that with this cam.
video later.... is still in download
