Hi Hulbi Lorm,

when we had no new data from Waba yesterday I supposed the same --- that Waba is off to regions where we can´t follow any longer.
But with the return back to Sudan and area Atbara river s/he is back on our radar :D

Hi Francesca and all others ,

Udu's transmitter somehow reminds me of Voyager 1, somewhere out there, with almost no battery power, and sometimes we receive a few signals that are more or less helpful... As long as s/he is well, all is fine.

Waba seems to have settled down again for the moment...

Hello everybody! :hi:

Unfortunately there was no data transmission for WABA today, next possibility to get some news is tomorrow

Last data point from yesterday shows Waba in an altitude of 1196 meters with a speed of 51 km/h, direction North.
Maybe s/he decided to go back to river Nile?
We´ll see it tomorrow (I hope)

Hello everybody! :hi:

Today there was no data transmission for WABA, maybe s/he is "on the road" again.

Last data point from yesterday shows Waba with a speed of 48 km/h.

Hi Bea, Francesca and all others :hi:,

great to hear from Waba and especially Udu. I guess Udu won't move on anymore at this time of year. S/he really does things his / her own way, it seems...

And so, January ends on a positive note, and we're getting ever closer to our first storks starting their return journey...

As this will be my first complete season - can anyone tell me, when can we probably expect to receive the first news from returning storks, and when does the Karula cam usually go back online? Can't wait for it! :bounce:

Good evening Francesca, Bea, Hulbi Lorm..... :hi:
here is another one who is looking forward to the new season.
But even now it's interesting.
What is Waba doing? Why does it always fly back to the starting point? Surely he/she is fine flying such enormous distances?
Udu has to dress warmly. From what I've read, are the temperatures there at night always below zero?

Thanks for the messages and pictures.
