Re: Eagles' Winter Feeding Ground Webcam 2010 - 11
I saw everything but was not able to make any screenshots. Thanks to you for making them. In a very short time the whole lump of meat was nearly eaten and the rest was "walking" out of view. And again to the right just like yesterday. I saw at least four eagles at the same time, they seemd to be young ones, because of one that had a white tail.
It was very interesting to see the interacting between the birds and how quick they can eat so much meat.
I have to go now, have a nice day!

hello!
i've had the camera open in the background and i suddenly realized that it had become unnaturally quiet there when i had a look the food was gone! no wonder it was quiet... then i read that a similar thing as yesterday had happened today, too.
there are only few crows and ravens and a magpie left, picking the bloody snow at the place where the meat lump used to be. the piece of skin is there, too, but nobody seems to really getting or even trying to get anything out of it. well, one raven was trying for a while, but now it is gone.
there are still some eagle calls in the background...
i suppose it's so warm there that the meat is not frozen and therefore it has been so easy to tear big pieces off the lump and then take the pieces away in no time at all... it's much harder when the meat is frozen.

did he bring so much new food?
he was collecting the dragged-out pieces from the surroundings and carried them back in one pile in front of the camera.
finally he through the skin from the right on top of everything. also the skin was gradually dragged out to the right but it wasn't quite out of the picture yet.
Renno managed to sneak in there without me noticing him so his entrance is missing from the clip i recorded.
too bad that it was already so dark that for most of the time he was moving too fast for the camera. i took tons of pictures and in so many there were only one boot visible with above it a more or less unclear shadow. a zombie or a ghost again ...
thank you, Renno!

I have for all of us beautiful surprise!
I got from Renno pictures what he did today about our eagles. There was real commotion of eagles! There was at least 16 eagles, they came and went, it was impossible to count them! Seven from them were ringed...Some of them nests near Nõva: 10 km and 15 km and eaglets from those nests.
Two ringed eagles were from Finland...one from Lapland and another from Southern Finland.

Wow, those are beautiful pictures! Thanks Renno for sharing them with us, and for collecting the pieces of meat that were laying around, and thanks Mutikluti for posting the pictures here. I hope for many eagles and other birds tomorrow. Will they leave the food in front of the cam?
Have a good evening
