25(10), one of our breeding females on our other nest sites, has made a habit of stopping by on the Manton Bay nest before heading off to her own site in previous years. She is a Rutland born bird and has been breeding since 2013.

Female Blue 25 has her own nest and is currently just passing through. The official content of the official Facebook is more trustworthy. Perhaps Ferenz knew better, about the British Osprey.

Just before 7am, we were greeted on the Manton Bay nest by a familiar face. Maya is back, and 25(10) doesn't linger for long. Thirteen years ago this unringed female successfully bred with male 5R(04) and has been the site's resident female ever since. Welcome back!

Great to see Maya and 33(11) on the nest this morning attempting to mate.
We've received quite a lot of messages requesting updates on 25(10) on her nest this season. As her nest isn't as closely monitored as the Manton Bay site, we likely won't be able to post updates frequently, but we will try our best to keep you up to date (likely in one of our blogs at https://www.lrwt.org.uk/blog).

We have been very impressed with 33(11)'s nest building this year (as is the same with every year!), but were a little frustrated by one of the sticks that he's brought back blocking our view of him and Maya! We were delighted to see him finally push it out of the way (and eventually off the nest).

Drama at Manton Bay today as 33 (11) and Maya were briefly joined by an unknown osprey. Fantastic to see the birds defend their nest.

Brilliant to see 33(11) bringing back an enormous pike to the nest. Thankfully, Maya was able to grab hold of it before it could wriggle away.
Make sure to keep an eye on the nest over the next few days - it can't be long now til we see the first egg!

We thought she might have been waiting til Easter Sunday but we can now finally see that Maya has laid the first egg of the season! We'll now see a constant presence from 33(11) and her on the nest while they incubate until the chicks hatch.

Brilliant news! Maya has just revealed that the second egg has now been laid at 10:20 this morning, three days after the first. We're excited to see whether we'll have a third in a few days time!
EDIT: Thanks to some eagle eyed viewers, we can now confirm that the egg was first visible at 9:04 this morning

A wonderful start to this morning, as we see Maya take a pause from her incubation to show us that the third egg has been laid!

A first sighting of Rutland-born male 3AY(19) this season, as we see him intrude on the Manton Bay nest. It's brilliant to see Maya defending her clutch with all four eggs clearly on view!
