This is a good place for this discussion, but whether we can learn more from further discussion of the same - I don't know. Each individual must work out what he/she will decide. For now, we know of some black storks that need our help. Those of us who want to will give that help.
Jo, I agree. I was happy to hear from Urmas thanking me for my donation and telling me how difficult it will be to get the money and people needed for this project. He also sent two photos which later appeared here in the forum. It was so touching to me to see Kaia and Karl coming for the food.

:hi: to all!

Dove nesting on my balcony finished tragically. On Sunday evening the female disappeared, the father flew away for night, returned in the morning and spent day time with the chicks. I consulted with a ornitologist and she said it's OK, one parent could take care of the kids too, but it turned out the male neighter fed them nor warmed and I have just found them dead!

Kaia is still bothered by the mess of the nest edge.
Karl II was supposed to fix that. The chicks begin to hatch.

about 10:10 an egg has a hole.
There is also a stain on the other egg. Nesting material? Dirt? Or "escape route" :whistling:

Hello aunty Swenja ♥ :hi:

Maybe you can soom it while the chicks are small?
In some nests that works, here too?
I am really looking forward to it. :bounce:

Hello everyone :hi:

Every now and then one can hear the egg. :D

12:19 Karl II gets up.

He preens.
Image

He ruffles his feathers.
Image

He aerates the nest floor.

12:20:32 He turns an egg. The chick quacks (I think). 8-)
Image

12:21 Karl II covers the eggs.

Swenja  :hi:
Asteria, so sorry to hear the sad news.

13:05:40-41 another little "quack" could be heard. :D
(I don't mention them all)

Is it hot on the nest? It's a bit windy.
