18.55 Andris brings a rat. Anna eats it in the nest.
18.58 Andris flies out and brings a branch.
Then miracles begin. Andris wants to sleep on the eggs. Anna complains, but Andris is persistent.

After the very unusual display by Andris, really nothing happened this evening. Brood, preen and more brooding until dark.

Here is one moment of that encounter (Pascale in the YT chat highlighted it, thanks!) Andris allopreens Anna's head - not something one sees everyday.

This Andris is SO egg focussed!!

Maybe Andris v3.0 for the nest, compared to previous Andris behaviours? I believe Liz01 had noted at least two individuals playing the Andris role previously.

I agree. That has to be Andris 3.0

It's not Andris 2019 and it's not Andris 2020 either
Andris 2019 was the dark type! 2020 Andris preferred mating in the nest.
Whether it's Andris 2021 or Andris 2022... no idea. The good thing is, they are all called Andris. I'm sure about Anna

In 2020 Anna laid her first egg on April 24 (we had two eggs)
this year the first egg is laid on April 24 too EDIT: I'm wrong! Egg was laid April 27

I got the idea to check because I think we have a PIP!

PIP was on 1. June 2020 so it is possible that we have a PIP

A quiet evening with a full crop and sleep beckoned Anna at around 19:50.

Deep sleep until 21:30 when she stood, preened, had a well-balanced chin scratch and then resettled. Back to sleep and so she stayed until dark.
