11:28: Ella jumps to the upper branches at the left and leaves from there (she tried the middle branch first, but wind prevented her from branching there).
11:30: Crash-boom-bang-Ella returns with a branch.



11:33: Ella leaves from the p-branch.

12:33: Exactly 1 hour later, Ella returns and perches on the p-branch. Her eaglet is sleeping.
13:01: Ella flies to the birches on the meadow. Will she come back with a twig?
13:05: She returns with a branch, I wouldn't call this a 'twig'.



13:09: And she's off again, leaving from the p-branch and circling to the left.
13:16: I think it's Ella again on the p-branch, the eaglet has seen his parent's arrival and is calling.



But she stays where she is and is watching the area.
13:26: Ella flies off to the left. - Meanwhile the eaglet - standing! - has discovered remainders of a fish.

But it's a dry piece of fish, not very rewarding.

16:04: Supported by a wind gust, Elmar lands on the p-branch, but then moves to a branch beneath the nest at the left. Very strong gusts of wind at the moment.

16:41: Voice of a WTE. Sounds like Ella's 'ka-ka'. - And again.
16:43: A WTE circles over the meadow. - The eaglet is looking to the right. Uhm, I'm not sure who is there or not there, I'll have to rewatch it. - I did, and I'm not wiser ...

He brings a fish. When he lands in the nest, the eaglet 'meeps' like Ella.

Absolutely gorgeous feeding by Elmar ('Dad' feeds bigger pieces, too!). 40 minutes at least - and the eaglet still takes one or two bites, although its crop is well-filled.



17:56: Elmar cleans his beak. - So the feeding was almost 50 minutes, ha! Well done, eagles!

18:01 ff.: Elmar rearranges the branchy furniture:

Good morning Matsalu, tere hommikust merikotkad!

Ella has spent the night with her eaglet. At 04:23, she softly calls 'ka-ka' and flies off to the woods at 04:24, beyond the observation tree, I think.
04:40: Elmar brings a leafy twig.



04:41: Eaglet -> PS.
04:55: Elmar leaves from the p-branch and flies to the right.
05:35: Eaglet -> PS, using well its legs.


The eaglet is alone at home....



... and still waiting for breakfast. It has been busy with preening (a lot), sleeping, trying out its little beak on the nest material.

11:14: Ella is the caterer of today's brunch - a big fish!



Feeding until about 11:40.
Food and company - what else can an eaglet wish for!



11:49 ff.: The Common Grashopper Warbler (locustella naevia) sings.
12:19: One of Ella' s downs as extra-decoration.



12:32: Eaglet -> PS.

18:01: The cam is back! - Ella is on the nest, sleeping.



18:12: Then she performs her eagle yoga:



and does a PS - oops, where did it go?



Usually, the eagles do not necessarily look where their PS lands - I guess, she was just a little irritated by the sound - and you never know, so better take a closer look.
- The Common Grasshopper Warbler (locustella naevia) trills like a champion.

19:11: The eaglet clearly has been fed well during the cam-off-period. Nice crop!



20:03: The Matsalu Beauties.



20:11: Ella leaves from the p-branch - down and then to the right, according to the watching eaglet.
20:13: And back with a fresh green twig.

It's so cute to watch the eaglet claim its individual distance, struggling with its wish to be close - but not too close, yes/no, and if so, how? Its size doesn't make it easier, but Ella is a very patient parent.

It is raining (which is rather good for the country). At 04:55, Ella, who stayed with the eaglet, flies off to the observation tree.
05:10: Ella is back and tries to cover the eaglet as good as possible.





07:02: Ella begins to feed yesterday's fish which she had covered with a twig.

07:24: Eaglet -> PS.



08:33: Ella jumps up to the middle branch, then to the top and flies away:
08:46: Ella is back with a twig.
09:56: Ella leaves and flies to the left.
10:10: And returns with approximately two-thirds of a carp (?).





Feeding until roughly 10:20. - By the way: Where is Elmar?

11:34: Ella flies off straight ahead to the woods (I couldn't see whether she passed the tree tops or circled to another direction).
11:58: There he is, Elmar!



Elmar starts feeding at 12:03...



... but is interrupted at 12:05 by Ella who brings a - branch .



Three 's a crowd, so Elmar moves to the middle branch.
12:08: Ella flies off to the left, Elmar descends to the nest.

Preparing for a PS and training its legs:



- We don't have to worry about any humidity on/in the nest. It's sunny, it's windy, and these birds are not made of sugar. The eagles maintain their nest and aerate it, digging up the compost as you have often seen.

13:20: Now, I wouldn't call that a real wing exercise - but the eaglet is on the brink of trying out its wings more often.



13:26 ff.: Elmar is watching - the sky and his eaglet, the eaglet is nibbling at the fish.
