Woodland Trust
We have a chick on Nest 2!
A hole became visible on the egg overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. The chick was fully hatched by lunchtime on Wednesday.

Three Osprey chicks now in the nest after last nights successful hatching. Great to have a full clutch this year. Now let’s hope all three successfully fledge later in July! Thanks everyone for your good wishes. It’s been a great season so far 👍

A view that hasn't been seen for a very long time - 3 Osprey chicks on a nest in the south of England.
It's now 7-8 weeks of watching these chicks progress and grow rapidly on the nest (how are we going to get anything done?!) before hopefully fledging.
Huge thanks to our team and the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation, including all of our volunteers, who have worked hard on this project; it's brilliant to see everyone's efforts continue to pay off!

CJ7 & 022 are making sure all of the Osprey chicks are getting plenty of food, including the recently hatched arrival. It's reassuring to see the youngest chick feeding well and not looking that much smaller than its siblings, despite their head-start!
Too much great footage on the webcams today for just one video, so we've put together a short compilation instead...

Our first Osprey chick🎊🎉! Hatching early this morning, Brodie was quick bringing in their first meal. Hopefully they'll have a sibling to join them in the next few days!

Newyddion trist.
Sad news this morning, after a challenging couple of days it looks as though one of the chicks has passed away.
We will give a longer update over the coming days.

CJ7 doesn't have the easiest job trying to corral the three fidgety Osprey chicks so that she can cover them when they are growing considerably day by day. It's especially promising to see the youngest still feeding well and holding its own playing catch up to its older siblings (who are getting increasingly feisty!).

The good Osprey news keeps on coming -
One of our 2021 translocated males 374 was photographed this morning over Morden Bog, just a stone's throw away from the nesting pair! He was first reported in Wiltshire back in mid-May, having returned from his migration for the first time and we were keeping our hopes high that he would make his way to the Poole Harbour area.
Thanks to Aidan Brown for these stunning photos. Fingers crossed 374 sticks around!
