21:34 Was that Hugo? A very fast visit. He brought a black corvid.
Image

21:39 And here is Hanna! I couldn't see what she has brought (or if she has brought anything), as the stream had just come back on when she walked back from the back panel.
21:40 She seems to be feeding the owlets, but I can see only a few seconds of it between the long stream breaks!
21:47 one owlet is eating black corvid in the foreground.

Two owlets sit, one stands, two look out into the forest, one sleeps.
I think this prey is too small for corvid. More likely Common Blackbird male

Good evening All, :hi: Liz and vainamoinen, thank you for the nice pics and for corrections! Yes, I didn't even think of blackbird with all the crows and ravens around here. And I probably wouldn't be able do tell a crow chick from a blackbird (I mean when it is hanging from an owl's beak  )

19:47 #1 has finished eating, this time he doesn't take the prey back to the pantry. He joins the other two in the "front row". He tries to clean his beak of some remaining shreds by moving his head left and right in the nest debris.
20:32 until now the three have been sitting, awake but resting, in the same position in front. Now #2 inspects the large prey and begins to eat.

20:43 #2 feeding on the large prey

21:30 The owlets are relaxed; one is eating from the large prey, one lies stretched out in the back and #3 is looking out front.

22:33 a blackbird is scolding loudly; all owlets are looking very interestedly out front. Is a parent near?
:bash:
22:54 night view comes on. (13 minutes earlier than yesterday)
23:56 It is very quiet in the nest. The owlets are awake, mostly sitting and looking.
(Amazing the difference to yesterday when they were so lively and adventurous. Is it the weather? If the night view comes on so early it might be very cloudy; I believe it has been raining earlier too.)

:bash:
After a stream break between 01:07:05 and 01:08:25:
All owlets are up and a black prey that wasn't there before lies in the nest. A parent must have been here in this very minute and left again - unless the owlets got this prey out of the pantry.

The stream is so bad now that we get only disconnected images; I cannot really say what is "going on". :bash:

01:19 Strange hoarse sounds down below. The owlets are watching the ground.
Image

01:40 #1 is eating at the back panel; the other two sit at the front, one looking out into the forest, the other watching #1.
02:06 #1 has stretched out to sleep now, while the other two sit still in the same position.
02:21 all are now flat and sleeping. But not for long, at...
02:31 all wake up and one begins to eat.

02:40 There are at least two prey items visible in the nest: one near the back panel, where #1 (I think) has been working at for a while, and a large black one near the center. Now #2 seems to start, very reluctantly though, on this black prey.
02:44 yes, he does try, but not successfully. He tries to get a grip with his talons on the black feathers, he nearly lies on the bird to get his beak in somewhere, but obviously he cannot find a starting point. So he gives up again.

02:45 #2, on the left, trying to break open the fresh prey.
Image

02:46 Hugo? arrives on the lower big branch, with a large prey - a bird with medium long legs and dangling dark tail feathers. He has some difficulties finding a landing place on the nest box, the owlets are in the way. The two older ones are clacking their beaks at him; he leaves as quickly as possible. He sits for a moment on the big branch and the two older owlets are clacking after him. That no longer looks and sounds like food begging to me, rather like "go away, you are competition!" Hugo flies away, he can be heard hooting. Hanna replies.

Good night!
