Hm. Looks like very little work for me. Only three storks altogether (Kalvi, Waba and Kuremari) with new data today.

Sadly not. But I guess they are already near or in Egypt, and we know how difficult transmission can get there.

Oh yes, I assume they all will be very soon off the radar.

All except of ... Waba!
If Waba travels this year also to the Nile he will enjoy us all the winter. And I am curious very Kalvi will go to.

October 7th

Hello all! :hi:

KAIA

Our Kaia sent data from Egypt! :headroll:

I'll prepare two tracker maps, one for yesterday and one for today

Here you are:

YESTERDAY
▶︎ TRACKER MAP
KAIA 06.10.2023
Entire day

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing

Distance: 381 km
Battery: 100 %

Kaia flew from Israel to the South Sinai Governorate in Egypt, where she spent the night.

South Sinai Governorate (Arabic: محافظة جنوب سيناء Muḥāfaẓah Ganūb Sīnāʾ) is the least populated governorate of Egypt. It is located in the east of the country, encompassing the southern half of the Sinai Peninsula. Saint Catherine's Monastery, an Eastern Orthodox Church monastery and UNESCO World Heritage Site of world renown, is located in the central part of the governorate.

KAIA

TODAY
▶︎ TRACKER MAP
KAIA 07.10.2023
from 03:22 UTC until 14:36 UTC

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing

Distance: 320 km
Battery: 100 %

Image

Kaia crossed the Suez Gulf at its widest part near the Red Sea, near Hurghada, between 13:21 UTC+3 and 14:36 UTC+3
Image

At 17:36 UTC+3 (last known location point), our Kaia was still in flight (36 km/h), in the Eastern Desert mountain range, west of Safaga. Maybe heading to the Nile?

Port Safaga, also known as Safaga (Arabic: سفاجا Safāja, IPA: [sæˈfæːɡæ]), is a town in Egypt, on the coast of the Red Sea, located 53 km (33 mi) south of Hurghada. This small port is also a tourist area that consists of several bungalows and rest houses, including the Safaga Hotel, with a capacity of 48 rooms (126 beds).
Having numerous phosphate mines, it is regarded as the phosphates export center. A paved road of 164 km (102 mi) connects Safaga to Qena of Upper Egypt

I wouldn't worry too much about that, Hulbi! :D

Thanks again for all your great Birdmap Overviews!

I am also hoping for data from Karl II.
He may already be way ahead of Kaia.
I hope we won't have to wait until next spring. :slap:

Oh what a pity! I assume that's it with Karl II for this autumn. He is probably already somewhere in Africa.
