FEB, 2.

Connection to the cameras has been off for almost a fortnight, but 3 cameras are back now.

And many thanks to Svein Junge for the transmission from the nest since 2015.
From Sveins Face Book page Jan. 31.:
Last day at work. Now I will retire, and Roar Halten will take over Streambird Pro AS, which I founded in 2016. During my time with Streambird, I have met many pleasant and interesting people, and I would like to send a warm thank you to all partners and clients. This has been a fantastically good year, and I wish Roar the best of luck in the future.

MAR. 6.

New Female and Baron are breeding on the cliffs some 200 meters from the old nest at the camera. Like they did in 2023 and maybe already in 2022.
The eagles has been heard almost every day singing in the distance and have visited the nest at the camera once in a while during winter.

In 2024 Baron Blue is 20 years old and nearby living Johannes Schrøder har a story to tell:

Baron Blue is 20 years in 2024.
Nearby living Johannes Schrøder tells the story: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1744368 ... 475091498/
GT translation:
This year it is 20 years since one of my favorite eagles was hatched in a rock hammer in the middle of Smøla! 🥳🦅
In 2004, Espen Lie Dahl visited the territory and marked the sea eagle cub with blue rings. Many years passed without anyone knowing for sure where the white-tailed eagles were, but research shows that the trend for young white-tailed eagles is that they migrate north in search of habitat.
In the summer of 2011 I was @audundahl on a sea eagle safari when a "new" eagle suddenly appeared in a new area in the archipelago south of Smøla. We got some pictures of the eagle and it turned out that it had blue rings. That's when we came up with the name "Baron Blue"! 😊
Espen read off the ringing and quickly found out that this was the eagle cub he had tagged back in 2004.
Baron Blå established himself in the territory where Audun and I first observed him in 2011, extra funny I think it is that this is the area I used a lot in my childhood, and already in the early 90's I found the nest that Baron today partly uses.
To this day, it's Baron

MAR. 30.

Both Baron and NF are home and spending the night tonight!
19:28:08 NF flies in to upper nest tree branch - moving around.

Image

19:29:37 Baron to nest then to bouncy branch 🦅🦅💙

Image

Right before they came to the nest tree - they both flew to the left trees.
Since NF is spending the night too - looks like she had not laid her eggs yet for the new season.
Or something went wrong at nest 2 on the cliffs some 100 meters out to east.

Quad cam a little later
