Hello!

Here is an article from the newspaper Postimees(in Estonian)

https://www.postimees.ee/7993644/avaneb ... ipaukudele

About the situation on Golden Eagle nest. Most we know. One thing to remember: on 19. April there will be big and very noisy military training.

Thank you Polly !

05.04:

9.21 egg roll
10.00 – shift change.
11.36 – shift change. Female off(?)
11.39 – shooting noise can be heard, not very loud, eagle doesnt seem to care.
Rough weather today, its snowing! Wheres the eagle?

About the 19th april - Its nothing too different from other training that happens daily on Central Training Area, mortar firing is quite usual there, also explosions.
Last year on 21th april there was same type of exercise (K9 shooting) at same place and as we now know - chick was successfully raised up in this nest :)

During the day probably military aircraft noise - looks around to find the source (maybe), seems a little bothered

Today there is no noise to heard. If remember right, tomorrow should be bigger training with explosions.

7.43 - incubating bird (think its male) calls around, in next few minutes mama comes and they shift change.
8.54 sees something and looks at it for quite a long time, then rolls eggs.
9.10 other one comes with a branch and they shift change.
10.10 - woodpecker can be heard, looks at it.
Overall it seems that planes or birds that fly close by annoy incubating bird more than noise from the training area.

Can we assume that these two neighbors tolerate each other?

16:18/19 The male?
Image

The offer is accepted and the female leaves the nest.
Compared to other bird species, the changes are really very quiet. Just a quiet gurgle... Heavy wing beats...

9:53 Silence :2thumbsup:
begin till 9:49 a.m.

9:56 it starts again
9:59 loud bang, He looks in the direction where the noise comes from
10:03 It's not continuous shooting yet. There are breaks...I'm glad about

10:12 still silence

10:23 he looks behind him and around
10:36 is looking around.. the wind is strong and loud

10:40:50 gun shots
10:43 loud bangs and explosion
Male is looking to the left . he doesn't seem to react. However, wild animals are good at hiding feelings

10:47 he definitely doesn't look worried. He looks around with interest.
10:48 stands up and takes care for the eggs
10:49 loud shooting.. Male is busy with twigs :D I definitely react more stressed than he does. :rotf:

video 9:59 till 10:49 .. It will be limited to the events. So lots of cuts and reaction, or rather no reaction from the eagle

He stands up and flew away . This time he flew behind the nest. away from the direction from which the noises come. but they are very moderate at the moment. Sounds more like a quiet rumble of thunder

11:18 it starts again- far enough
11:19 she is preening herself

Video from the change and military noise
