here it is!keito1726 wrote: April 24th, 2024, 8:18 pm https://up.picr.de/47447946ro.jpg cool. the picture's here!

you should first click the "insert image" button. it's the 9th in the row after the asterix *. then you insert the picture link between the parenthesis like this, instead of the 2 dots i put here:
[img ]..[ /img]
you can quote my message to see what the syntax looks like in the message editor.
well done!

hello keito!keito1726 wrote: April 26th, 2024, 8:36 am....... what is wrong? I inserted a link to the page between <img>... and </img>
you inserted the link of the Durbe stream between the img-brackets. img does not "understand" that.
the link needs to be a link to a image file in some photo service, like picr.de.
this is a valid link:
https://up.picr.de/47447946ro.jpg.
and this is what is does:

use quote-function on my message to see what the syntax looks like.

Thank you so much, Ame. :-) I understand. I'm sorry, my English isn't good enough for me to go through this whole technical forum. That's why I'm asking here. ... P.S. Just to explain. In the last years, I have been at a forum with a Czech language, where inserting pictures and videos has been simple. Unfortunately, this forum has been cancelled, that is why I came here... I have now found a service that provides image editing, but it will probably be too difficult for me, so I'm afraid I'll have to do without inserting pictures ;-)

picr.de is a photo host, but there are many others, too. in the old times many of us used Photobucket but that went 'bad', so i think most of us found another. picr.de is German and it seems to be reliable. it's usually very easy to get an account free on one of the photohosts. some may store the pictures for a limited time and that is not very desirable, but some host pictures "forever".
after you have an account you upload picture files in the photohost. (img-format more preferable than png, because png-files are many times larger than jpg and they become visible in the forum much more slowly). the photohost gives you an image code for the picture. copy the image code and insert it between the img-brackets. that's the way it goes.
later it's also useful to think of some kind of storage file system for your pictures, at least if/when it's begins to seem likely that you are going to make a lot of pictures. otherwise it will become impossible to find anything in your account after while if all pictures are in one stack.
this advice applies to both your computer and the photohost.
about editing pictures:
i'm using the Classic Paint-program on my pc before i upload pictures. i have never used the editors that there possibly are on the photohost. i think it is much more practical to do the editing 'at home' and then upload the edited final picture. i don't know what operating system your pc has but mine has Windows. the Classic Paint in not included in the recent Windows-systems but it can by found on the Microsoft pages and downloaded. it is much more practical and useful than the newer versions of Paint.

Ame again thank you so much for the instructions on how to work with pictures. I have Windows and image processing programs - Photo Scape, Picasa. I'll try to find and download Classic Paint.
