i've been wondering... the days are growing longer. even in Northernmost Finland the kaamos ended last Saturday and the Sun rose above the horizon for 10 whole minutes for the first time in weeks... i'm sure that Linda and Sulev have also noticed that the days are getting longer. soon they'll remember that it's time to go and check the condition of their nest.

if i remember right it was in January last year that the Pontu camera started. (it seems that i've misplaced the pictures... :dunno: )
are there any news about the beginning of the season this year and about the arrangements for the season?

I don't know of any news yet, but we can hope for one of the Eagle Club gurus to let us know!

the Pontu pictures have been unavailable from the Pontu server for 2 -3 weeks and i asked Urmas about them. it appears that Techno-Urmas needed the server for some other (more important) purpose and moved them to another place, but he promised that he'll let us know within a few days where to find them again.

at the same time i had to ask Urmas about the next eagles' nest season, like when the Pontu camera might restart this year and so on. this is what Urmas replied:
"The camera from nest is drying on the owen, Renno took it away about two weeks ago and last weekend also other equipment was taken to room (wild boars were made some troubles, as run into wires of the solar panel)... Think after couple of weeks we try to find suitable weather and install all again."

i hope they have found a powerful enough detergent or cleaning stuff for the lens.... :whistling:

so among other things it's up to the weather when the guys can go and re-install the equipment. it hasn't been so nice weather lately.... we many reasons to hope that it will clear up: the WTE nest camera and the seal camera just to mention two! so let's keep our thumbs up and other fingers crossed for good weather! :2thumbsup:

hello Kenny!
i've watched your "old" videos from the 2009 nesting season and i saw that you really used some film-making skills or tricks there, like zooming in. how did you do it? did you do it with the program that you are using? my friend has a program which she can use to zoom on-line... that is a clever trick, because then you get a clear picture, not losing resolution there. Welcome back for the nesting season 2011! :headroll:

Those videos from2009 don't have any special effect, just at some point they zoomed in the camera (from EENET server), i didn't do anything.
bUT newwer Realplayer has some function for zooming, tho i don't have it yet :S

ok, so you weren't as clever in filming as i thought. btw: we saw this zooming at the seal island this winter once, but i had already forgotten that it is possible.

i've been reading WTEnest-pages further. there you wrote (viewtopic.php?p=35659#p35659) that you were having a problem with too many cameras to watch at the same time and didn't know how to record videos and take screenshots from them all at the same time. have you already solved that problem? VLC-player is one solution to this problem. you can have a VLC playing each camera stream and you can record videos and take screencaptures with them all at the same time. it's a great way to fill up the harddisk! :rotf:

i was sooo lucky today: i found again the Pontu pictures of the preceding two nesting seasons again!! i was reading the pages of 2009 again and found the ancient old address of Pontu pictures in the forum pages and tried it and it worked!! Techno-Urmas has put them in another computer so the number-addres does not work anymore, because that points to a certain computer. but the old name-address leads to the news computer! (if i understand it correct! i don't really know much about this stuff...)

the 2009 season's pictures can be found here: http://pontu.eenet.ee/kotkas/2009-05-02 ... -20-57.jpg

then after a little fiddling and guessing i managed to find the pictures of the 2010 pictures too! :headroll:
they are in two sections.
the first part can be found here:
http://pontu.eenet.ee/kotkas/2010-03-25 ... -08-23.jpg

and the latter part is found here:
http://pontu.eenet.ee/kotkas/2010-07-23 ... -05-50.jpg

to find a particalar picture select the correct date and time and enjoy the company of our eagles! :chick:
and the Mejuba-album which Ohansen created should not be forgotten either! it is more practical to have a look at the eagle pictures there than in Pontu. the 2010 season's eaglet pictures can be found there. thank you so much, Ohansen for your big effort!

I have used many hours on this - but I like the result... So far...

And I hope you will have some use for it.
