Good news from the rescued & released hobby chick Soma (m):

Ágnes Sawyer writes:
>>>The smallest chick (Soma, based on his ring), which we were able to rescue twice after a fall in the maize field, grew up well in the zoo's bird clinic, while his conspecifics (Lelle and Hanga) flew out.
He has shed his white "fur", with only a few down feathers still hiding in his plumage. He grew stronger and practiced the movements of flying more and more often. The day came when we took him to the foot of the electricity pylon with an artificial nest and a camera to return him to the wild.
As we approached the power line pole, we saw a young peregrine falcon at the top of the pole, and then the other one, which was just resting on one of the cross poles, started screeching. When we arrived at the column, one of the parents was already with us.
The youngsters immediately flew towards him, screeching, and followed him. The more skillful one managed to snatch the prey from the parents' clutches in the blink of an eye. This is how young falcons are fed at this age. In the meantime, when Soma heard the sound of the falcons, he also perked up and squeaked loudly to show how much he missed his kaba family.
Soma was placed on the crossbar of the post by our expert and before he met the parents again, we left the field so as not to disturb the reunion of the falcon family. We will visit the site again in the following days to check on the youngsters. <<<
