The wolverine left the feeding area without removing any large pieces.

Nevertheless, it is noticeable that there were no golden eagles here yesterday or today.
No magpies today either...two jays made the day theirs.

Is the eagle owl (who, by the way, I can't say whether he is male or female. I would think male. Playful, fearless to careless...not very big) now completely saturated or is it sitting close in the upper branches and is that why usual visitors stay away?
From above, his chance of hunting success is more successful... (?)

Let's see who shows up.
Was here again until 8:22 p.m....

Well, Pig doesn't seem to be a sensational success - in the truest sense of the word.
I once read that raw pork should not be fed to animals. Because of the parasite 'Trichinella'. But I think this gift to its users has been dealt with.
Have fun tomorrow!

15:15:01 Seems another bird is flying through the wood in the background. His eyes betray the flight. Starts at the top...
... a bird with 8 legs.

It's fascinating how this spider can move. Indian summer in December. :innocent:

WILDLIVE IN THE FOREST

A fox flying high yesterday.

I never considered foxes jumping into trees. I saw it for the first time last year - also here in the livestream by Morten Hilmer.
Yes why not. :innocent:

Luontoliven Petolintulive - December 13th

Last night our two main players did not disappoint our expectations.
Both Bubo and Wolverine accepted the invitation to dinner.

Everything goes hand in hand...sometimes one, sometimes the other. :innocent:

While the wolverine swallows, shakes and eats with ease, Bubo has to struggle a little more...

Similar visits throughout the day as yesterday... Jay, tits.

No golden eagles, no magpies.
Who stole the Goshawk?

In my unfortunately destroyed post, I documented that Bubo hopped from above and disappeared a short way up.
If he has found a place to stay there, it may explain why some visitors stay away.

The branch/trunk below shows traces of droppings but these spots in my opinion are too small for an eagle owl?

Close meeting 08:30

It should already be daylight.
Bubo eats but becomes very restless. He jumps away from the carcass and checks his surroundings in alarm.
Image

Flies into a nearby tree...
Image
I'm not sure Bubo stayed in the tree.
Shortly thereafter, there was a rain of tree material over the feeding area.

Seconds later the wolverine appears.

The German name Wolverine is derived from the Old Norse Fjellfraß (rock cat). But this name is incorrect: as a marten, the wolverine is more of a canine species than a cat. The wolverine's diet varies seasonally: In winter it is a skilled hunter and even kills large mammals such as reindeer and elk calves because it can move almost silently in the snow. In summer, however, it is dependent on less quickly fleeing animals, carrion or vegetable food, as it then moves very noisily and cannot surprise animals.

The “bear marten” has very few enemies other than humans; at most, an entire pack of wolves can pose a threat to it. Individual wolves, pumas and even bears willingly give him their food in order to avoid a fight with the defensive marten

The busy bees of Luontolive need perseverance and good relationships this season.

The Wolverine's pantry still seems endless.
What sweet, what glutton rolls around and struggles to bring the land of milk and honey into its own hiding place.

Pull, ball...pull...until submission.

In the end Bubo doesn't agree but it's okay - 'it's mine.'

Of course, Wolverine also moves this carcass to his private hiding place.

Perhaps as long as there is no dense snow cover, supplies should be avoided. In my opinion, there is certainly anger of spectators, but pets in the forest...just so we have something to look at.
I think let them work. This strengthens them more.

BTW: the eagles are walking to the feeding ground  - later they go to the left to a tree. there must be another prey. the golden eagle has eaten there too.
and a fresh prey was brought today too. they all are hungry, but most of the prey is eaten by the wolverine. the eagle owl is here again too. strange behavior for an eagle owl. Instead of waiting for fresh, warm prey on a tree, she struggles with this frozen pig.

ringed golden eagle visit the feeding ground - bad light!

...
Liz, hello! :2thumbsup:
Good evening all together!

Yes, I wonder that too.
On the other hand, about these feeding stations - it's a bit of a 'win win'.
Animals have emergency care here and we get the opportunity to observe animals that we wouldn't otherwise see.

There are two hearts beating in my chest.
This permanent interpretation of food stimuli “lures” animals to a place that would otherwise avoid each other.
Sure, they make arrangements somehow, but this provision doesn't produce normal behavior. On the contrary, I think it creates conflicts among the animals and also a certain inertia. A sloth that is not good for the survival instinct. Or could have a negative impact.
Do we already have a real emergency here?
There isn't even snow...
But only people who know the local conditions can make a judgment on this. Is there healthy wood that provides fruits such as berries, cones, etc.?
Small mammals, birds for eagles, buzzards, owls and hawks... .

Well, yes.
I accept the offer to see beloved actors here. But I'm not 100% free from concerns.

To the Golden Eagles...
@RaijaMaria, observer and accountant par excellence (btw many thanks :innocent: ), observed 3 Golden Eagles a few days ago. I was too late, no chance to trace it. Was it two ringed and one unringed or exactly the other way around... I would have to play poker.
In any case, there seems to be good density. I am very pleased.

On the other hand, the Goshawk no longer visits the feeding area.
It's not that I'm just waiting for him here (yes, I like those a lot) but there must be a reason for his absence. The Goshawk was always present.

Wolverine was at the table earlier.

Actually came galloping, broke off a piece and galloped away again.
