Iris goes fishing and brings a huge trout to the Owl Pole, alive and kicking! Meanwhile, in the background, deer can be seen running down the trail and one even stops to face the camera.

Poor Iris lays her first egg of the year. Unnfortunately, even though Louis is the one who mated with her and is responsible for her having eggs, he won't feed her or any chicks that may hatch. He has another nest with a female named Star, about a mile from the Hellgate nest. He always raises a nice family with Star but has nothing to do with Iris for the rest of the year.

Unfortunately, we have lost Finnegan as he did not return from migration. He was a great mate and father.
