Hello, Polly 
and everyone.
We are close to the hatching of the first egg but so far there is no sign of hatching.
With three eggs we have seen two clutches, H21 - H44 (2021) and Rapla (2022). In both cases the first hatching was a little before 38 days as opposed to 40-42 days for the 4 egg clutches. So they should hatch tomorrow, but there are few cases.
In this hatching regulation I have always wondered: How does the female do it? Does she know from the beginning how many eggs she is going to lay, or does she know the eggs in order to have a longer incubation on some of them, besides of course, starting later or regulating with less incubation on the first eggs.
In what I am seeing in my territories there are still no signs of hatching of goshawks , to give clues at least 7 days have to pass and yet I have discovered two new nests of Red Kites ( Milvus milvus ) with chicks already peeping and abundant droppings.
We will see if the forecasts are fulfilled.

Hmm, this pair is detached from the observations of the other pairs.
They're calmer, Mona primarily takes care of the incubation while Miks waits in the background.
Contrary to some speculation, I think it's Mona's intention. She was never restless. Never hungry... Miks took care of his female. Even though he wasn't needed in the nest and was therefore hardly seen.
The eggs look intact.
But I expect the hatching process to begin tomorrow.
Yes, diagrams are drawn quickly, but an individual writes its own thing. How they like it, what the circumstances are...
Pērle had already refused mating before egg #4 was laid. That's why the fourth egg honestly surprised me.
But okay... and you're right when you've been saying for a long time that forest Goshawk is different to observe than the bustling city Goshawk.
