09:47 A second stork arrives on the nest on the right.
Who is this? Probably the intruder.
No gap in the wing, as far as I could see.

A lot of excitement.

Greeting.

The male sits down.

This is typical courtship behaviour. What is happening? :puzzled:

10:03:02 The female preens the head of the intruder.

He gets up.
I think he wanted to mate...

10:03:54 The female clearly didn't agree.
Image

10:03:59 She throws the intruder out of the nest.

One of the storks (presumably the intruder) is thrown out again.

10:06:41 The male (?) arrives on the near branch
Image

The female gets up.

It looks as if the male (intruder?) wants to get closer and closer to the nest. Maybe he wants to enter the nest.
The female clearly doesn't agree.
Image

10:22:54 The male jumps onto the far branch
Image

10:23 The male jumps onto the nest, but is immediately pushed away by the female.

11:27:55 He flies out

Three black storks ! :D

12:32 A "new"(?) couple in the nest   ...
Image

I think it is the intruder (on the left), and in my opinion, it is surely our female (on the right).

...and a "new" BS female on the far branch. 8-)

end of fight doesn't look great
The stranger is attacking our male very violently. He bit his wing and tried to throw him out of the nest.
Image

the gap looks very big! He lost more feathers?
Image

The intruder has thrown the male out of the nest with a gap in his wing!

the gap in males wing maybe caused by fights. It is definitely not a normal moulting. They are losing primary feathers only one at a time.

and the video

To be clear about who is who, close observation would have been necessary from the very beginning. It takes too much time to research everything. I'm no longer sure who is or was the owner of this nest. The female, that is clear to me. She's still here and was in the nest. With whom at 12:48? They got along well. The stork with the gap in his wing is also here. And another male who also behaves like an owner. Perhaps there is another one too? This stork with rings is the only good exception. Recognizable at any time.

The male with the gap in his wing was definitely the initial male on this nest.
He is the one who incubated the eggs in partnership with our female, and went missing for a while.

I agree that the female is most probably still the same

I'll try to find out who's the male at 12:48
EDIT:
He arrived on the nest at 12:10.
This is not the initial male. No gap in the right wing!
So it must be the intruder.

At 10:03:02, she also preened the head of the intruder.
I think that made him think she would be willing to mate.
He stood up... and was decisively and very forcefully thrown out of the nest by the female.
It was clearly not the right time for lustful activity. :D

Our female is a lady with spunk!

See: viewtopic.php?p=956027#p956027

The fight at 12:37 was really nasty. This was serious and meant to injure! Not just to throw a rival out of the nest
It seems to me that the intruder is ‘a size bigger and stronger’ than the initial male, who is perhaps hampered by the missing feathers (or by whatever caused that big gap). This might have been a decisive fight….

I am also almost certain that it was not our female who took the first two chicks out of the nest bowl and then dropped them into the forest.
In my opinion, that BS didn't look like our female, and also didn't have a gap in the right wing. So it was not our male either. So probably it was the intruder.
