9:19 raven's calls. - this was again a "bird heard, not seen"-event.

did i hear a bird? a magpie?
no, i think it was a great tit.
yes, the great tit was visible on the right side.


13:24:55 the great tit flew back but landed under the nest.
the weather is beautiful!

14:14 Zorro flew from the forest on the other side of the lake. he landed on the top with a stick.


then he dropped down on the nest and worked a little. then he looked around... he had a big crop.
14:15:54 he flew out.

14:17 Zorro flew back with a small stick.


he worked with other sticks.
14:18 he flew out.

there is still rather a lot of light on the nest. this is a bit strange because the Moon is still set and the Sun set a long time ago.




17:56:23 the camera went to sleep.

7:05:41 the camera woke up

the weather looks great

8:26 Zorro flew from the forest on the opposite side by the ObsOak3 and then he flew by on the right side and then landed on the top. then he dropped in. i didn't see him having anything.
a few seconds later also Milda flew in. Zorro worked hard... then both looked around...

I was short away from the screen, now both are at home

8:26:55 Zorro flew on the right - just a wing is visible
8:27 he drops from above


and starts working with a branch

both were looking around...
8:30 Milda pulled Zorro's wing feathers, possibly to remind him what he should be doing.
Zorro is back in working mood now that he has the Boss by his side.

then Zorro jumped to the left branch.

Zorro won of course. he knows best where the sticks should go.
Milda monitored the surroundings while he was working...

8:51 Milda flew out. she has three nice clean dots in the middle of the white and a clean gingerbread border between the white tail and dark back.


Zorro worked a little..
8:52 he flew out.


i looked up gingerbread and found all sorts of shapes but this is the traditional Finnish shape with no decorations.
this is what the border between the white tail and dark back on Milda's tail looks like.

8:55 Milda brought a spruce twig.
she looked around...

8:57 Zorro flew in, with nothing.
8:58 he flew out.
his tail pattern has become more regular. it's not messy any more. also he has a nice gingerbread border on his tail.
the dark spots on Zorro's tail form a uniform line but Milda has separate spots. on the whole their tails look very much alike. they can easily be confused if they are not well visible.
