Very long the egg was without a mother-hen, but then the owl kept shouting at the entrance and did not go into the house, sat on the egg. Is it safe? And what actually happened?

This is not true. Very few owl species start to breed when egg laying is finished. For example Pygmy Owl do so. Tawny Owl usually begin to breed from the second egg, sometimes from the first.Biker wrote:

Tawny Owls lay their eggs usually at night.
