good evening!
it seldom happens that one single picture is enough to depict one whole day. today was such a day. Image

at about 10 am wild boar were talking under the nest tree.


in the evening after 5 pm in darkness wild boar were making noise under the nest again.

good evening!
today was again a "one-picture-tells-it-all"-day. see the picture by Liz on the previous page.

for us the forest may look very much like winter but pygmy owls have noticed that spring is coming. Image
one of them called on Dec 27 and Dec 28. yesterday i didn't hear them (and i didn't look for calls) but today a pygmy owl called three times, at 8:06 and 8:08 and 8:10. the last call i happened to hear and then i searched for the rest.

the day was sooo grey again. snow was melting and the deer leg became visible again.
most of the snow had melted already during the night. this morning the pygmy owls were not in the mood for calling. instead raccoon dogs growled in the forest.


there were also some wild board voices and a great spotted woodpecker visited the top. that was all.
