Many thanks for such nice news
That means that the French pair is probably the first in Europe who returned, even in Manton Bay nest all are impatiently awaing for birds. Manton Bay is finally on YT.
I remember name of male Reda, but female that I remember was other called ( Sylvia ? ). Was the present female Reda's mate last year ?

Great news, Ferenz, thank you!

Mating, earlier male brought a prey to the nest, the female was eating. Then beaking kisses, so sweet and nice to watch. I guess they want to brood there, not the best idea.
Female is still there.

For you Scylla the details of your Orange ringed osprey with kind regards to Rolf Wahl who monitors the French nests - The female Osprey seen to-day, 8/03/2021 is a regular visitor at the Balbucam nest, every year in March. Her orange ring reads 02 dot.
She was ringed in the forest of Orleans on 10/06/2014. As she arrives here early, she usually turns up at the Balbucam nest long before an unringed female comes back to breed there. 02 dot has been breeding about 5 Km from this nest but failed in 2020. However, she was documented on 01/09/2020 by photos by Jorge Safara at the Alqueva Dam, frontier of Spain/ Portugal.
The current mate of Reda 04 is unbanded Sylva. I guess she will return this week...last season Sylva arrived on 17/03/2020. Read page 48 >>

These two are really very interested. I saw this camera this morning too and if I'm not mistaken there have been mating outside of the nest as well. Can someone guess the age? I can not. They are perhaps inexperienced in choosing a nesting spot?
This flock of starlings could also be the one that flew through the picture yesterday.
Drying place.

Dear Ferenz
Many many thx for infos
I know RSPB forum but last time I was there in 2018, the last and unhappy year for EJ in Loch Garten, to read any news about her and her young and unexperienced mate.
So, the femal is a neigbour of the Balbucam nest just coming in with a friendly visit
How great idea is birds banding and tracing them with transmitters. We can get know where they are wandering
Anyway, it seems to me they are first ospreys retuned home, in Europe

Both Ospreys in the nest apparently mated early on a dusty morning...

Addendum to a situation this morning.
A crow flies to the scaffolding below the nest. If I see correctly, it has something in its beak ... a branch or something like that. Is she planning to build there?
Okay, don't waste resources ... a double decker nest might work, but the male hawk doesn't see it that way. He vehemently drives the crow away.
Shortly afterwards it is back again.

March 17th
Short onset of winter.
A hooded crow as a guest at the nest.
Pretty. The white feathers lie like a folded collar.

The male falcon is here.
Now the female.
The couple does not waste time.
After mating, the male sits on the other side of the nest. The female immediately continues cleaning.
I think we have to assume that the couple actually want to live here. Or?
