Mutikluti, thank you!

A woodpecker around? Knocking can be heard and eagles were also attentive.

Anna returned to the egg.
Uku left 13:08 but returned a minute later with a big bundle of... reed?

The egg was also covered in the material brought by Uku. For a while Anna seemed to be puzzled, but then she exposed the egg again.
She took some time before lying down on the egg at 13:16.

for the next egg. :whistling:

i have read somewhere that the chalk shell develops around the egg during 24 hours before laying. this information was probably for hens but i don't think it's much different for other birds. :puzzled:
i have also read somewhere ( but haven't got the faintest idea where) that some birds may have a container for semen and thus they are able to fertilize eggs continuously without mating just prior to egg-laying. :dunno:

if anyone knows more and more precise information please tell us! :help:

i took up my calendar and counted the expected or due date. for 38 days of incubation the due date should April 14th, + or - a day or two. if today is the first then April 14th is the 38th day. the egg was laid in the night or dark time. correct me if i made a mistake.

i also checked yesterday's Pontu video and the last picture: then nest was empty when the camera turned off for the night at 18:34.

I thought someone wrote here that WTE's stop mating after the egg is laid. But it could be somewhere in another forum. Can't find it.
