Their calls are powerful and the female is already wearing a flowing wedding dress.

The little timestamp will kill my eyes.

It will be good to observe what is happening first. Also when it comes to gender. I'm sure I've already made a mistake.
Figuring out significant features, each will have its subtleties. His own voice and habits... who enters the nest and from which side preferred.
And - which nest will carry the eggs...

Have fun everyone and everyone is welcome to write and share observations. It's not my topic.

I first need to lay eggs in an Osprey Nest, which I have been promising for a long time. :rotf:

Nest1

16:31 The female has already slipped into the branches.

She will eat the carcass and hop out withim of the nest tree a short time later.

This nest appears to be the camouflage nest.
Probably also used to hand over food.
*maybe later for Hawkkets/Juvenile too

Hello!

The number of hatchlings in previous years is summarized below (data provided by Imants Jakovļevs and Aigars Kalvāns).

Nesting Season - Nest - Number of hatchlings
2015 - 3rd nest - 3
2016 - 2nd nest - 2
2017 - 2nd nest - 2
2018 - 2nd nest - 2
2019 - 1st nest - 1
2020 - 2nd nest - 1
2021 - 1st nest - 1
2022 - 2nd nest - 4
2023 - 1st nest - 3

The 3rd nest is fallen down now. There are approximatelly 90 m between the 1st and the 2nd nest.

The female carries a ring starting with DT 34..
We hope to read 2 final numbers.

Sorry for long break, we had to adjust the view angle and the sharpness of the image that took some time.

@tringa, thank you very much for the information about the nest and the pair. :2thumbsup:
Have the nest owners been the same since 2015 or have there been changes?

:hi: I just came across this nice short article about this nest near the Children's Hospital - and the many fans the goshawk has amongst the employees:

Susanne, nice to read you! Many thanks for the link. :2thumbsup:
She has also observed that often watching the goshawk with little patients helps to distract them from the unpleasant.
.... oh yes, I can understand that. :innocent:

Quacks a voice that doesn't belong to him. :D

Only one has the red neck ~ a couple?

The Goshawk pair does not show any major activity in this nest. Seems the brood will follow in Nest 2. While food may be handed over here. The visitors here will be different - no less interesting.
