Sova, thank you.
I scrolled back, put the speed at 0.25 and found those movements.

17:54:29 ... the usual WC. Not white but yellowish.

17:54:41 Kati rubbed her preen gland.

10:33 It's raining harder now. I hear thunder in the distance. A cuckoo is calling.

Why do you think that, chrisitz?
Is it because of the colour of the PS, yesterday?

I think BS droppings look usually rather 'white'. But the colour may be different due to what they ate, I think.
We know that Kati loves eating frogs. Maybe that changes the colour to yellowish?
(This is just a guess) 8-)

Good afternoon to Karula Forest,
and thanks for all great pictures !

I also think that Kati looks somewhat tired and stressed, especially after the visitor. Maybe she is somehow ill, maybe she's old compared to Karl II,
or maybe she misses Karl I (even though Karl II is a good stork) ? Of course I don't know, these are just thoughts coming to my mind.

Treia :hi:
Yes, probably Kati is (much?) older than Karl II. She could be 10+, in my opinion.
I suspect that Karl II is still quite young. Maybe 4-5 years old?
(Since we do not know where and when they are born, all this is just speculation.)

We can't know what birds think or feel, of course, but I don't think that Kati misses Karl.
Wild animals live in the present and don't worry about the past, I think

11:51:31 Is it raining again?

11:59:49 Karl II takes care of the eggs. Is the black spot that we see on one of the eggs still the same stain?

Karl II rearranges tiny bits of moss.

13:19 Karl II is still waiting for Kati. It doesn't rain anymore.

Thank you Anne !
Maybe Urmas should now ring Karl II
so in the future it would be better to follow his ways

I hope that, if there are plans to ring Karl II, that will happen after the storklets have left the nest and do not need their father anymore. Attaching rings and a transmitter disturbs adult BS quite a lot, for a couple of days.
When Karl was ringed, he did not come home for 2 days, and it turned out that Kati had already left for the south ... :slap:
That was difficult for the nearly full-grown storklets who were still on the nest. (and for us, observers  )

I have to go for a few hours.

Good day :hi:
I have not been watching BS for a long time and that's why I do not know; but is not that very long Kati is not coming to the nest?
