Re: Migration Map
Yeah Sasa :-)
Also wonder about the sender 7 years old (if not exchanged), maybe week signals that could explain the hiccup last week ?

Hi sigge: What I actually meant is her age in relation to T6nn's age.

Thanks, Sasa :) It is interesting to see, that Kirilla is real migratory bird, but our eagles are sedentary :)Sasa wrote:November 9th, 2016 (data & update)
I am so relieved to see Kirilla moving.![]()
So it was due to poor transmission data that there was no movement in many weeks.
Just as well she is going south now.
Hm, now we can see in map more information about her path above the Arctic Circle. On the left side of my picture is autumn migration path (20.11.2016), in the middle - spring migration path, but on the right side - place, where she spent two months - time from 27.06. to 29.08. How do you think - was she breeding there?

Migration map news:
In Friday 25th of November the young Lerner Guide from BirdLife Zimbabwe Jean Blake will check the place where transmitter of Lesser Spotted Eagle Vahur stopped for three weeks and discharged in shortage of light there. That check of place is organized by Julia Pierini (CEO BirdLife Zimbabwe). Let's hope for success there!

Two members of BirdLife Zimbabwe, Ruth and Siggy went to check place already today, but did not find remnants of Vahur, as well as the transmitter. This leaves us with the hope that only the transmitter is hidden there somewhere in the woods. And the eagle flies free.Hellem wrote:Migration map news:

Hello!
We are going to renovate (upgrade) the migration map website. Therefore probably some errors for users will appear - please patience and soon we will ask yours as user suggestions for better performance. Think we will first implement our own plans and then ask the users opinion. Thought not to build up in parallel the beta version, but turn new page at once and then to update it smoothly. At the moment only main link http://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN works and it opens not quickly - we have to work on it for weeks to be satisfied, I think.
Kind regards!

Hello Urmas
Thank you for map update!

Thank you for map update!

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

With some delay spring season 2017 on migration map is available.
http://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN
Data since 15th of February enclosed there. First birds started their journeys to north. Some are out of GSM network, yet.
In case of suggestions about the migration map you can write here! Also you can test it in different devices you have in use.

Data of 11.3.2017:
Iti has flown 727 km since the last GPS update (I do not quite know how to interpret this km indication, there is no legend for it) and has nearly reached the Bosporus.

Distance shown in information about every bird on map, it is distance from the beginning of season. Now since 15th of February. So it is not exactly migration length, but some more kilometers.
