Hope she will lay her second egg soon - or my eyes will fall out of my head soon

Besides I´m watching the Latvian eagle cam - one can get seasick today, the nest is swayed so hard Image

ztkjhwlibg246?? was there something interesting at the siga ground? :puzzled: i looked and there was no-one...

Linda is lying there as if she has no intention to do anything else... :slap:
i hope she didn't drop the egg anywhere in the forest yesterday afternoon... -just kidding!

15:17 Linda got up... one egg.

15:20 she lay down again. and up... and down.

even hubby is interested in this process. he just called and his first question was: "any egg yet?"

I gues the transition to the somewhat lethargic state of breeding from the alert state of mind must be quite something for the birds. But I don't see them complaining! Brave birds they are.

:hi: all. Thanks for all the pics, videos and info. Welcome ghubfuj and ztkjhwlibg246 to this forum. 16:45 Linda called 10 times Sulev before he came. He took over the nesting from Linda.

hhmmm....? still no new egg...

hubby said "what about if she has another nest somewhere with another male and she leaves in the afternoons to lay her eggs there?"

i had to think for a few secondsbefore i realized that this would not be a successful breeding strategy for WTEs. both parents are absolutely necessary for them. they are not like some little birds, like e.g. pied flycatcher males can have two families at the same time.

i had recording running while i was away and i made a shorter clip of the change. the sound is offset agian i'm afraid. i also took snapsoths of the change. they are in a separate album: http://www.mejuba.com/albums/amelo/157634/1

Sulev brought a bale of hay again so that it couldn't be seen how many eggs there were.

Linda came back and Sulev rather reluctantly got up and left.
