I also noticed this detail. Bea was also referring to Uku being non-considerate.
Bandit life is dangerous by definition. But in such cases human symphaty is with the one who is being robbed (and since Uku was wet one could think that he was an honest fisherman and not the original robber). On the other hand, well, there is also the case of Robin Hood and alike...
