I also noticed alive fish. Been having the cam on all day in hope Janika comes back.
Could the birds pick the fish on ground too if hunger comes or a bigger stork has to show something drop for them to pick fish up?

Yes, Liz. Hopefully Janika will come home soon.
The chicks need protection and warmth.

I'm sure the Kotkaklubi people have considered all the pros and cons, and are more aware than anyone of what can happen.

But even if Janika does return, the concerns are far from over. There are still many weeks to go. We all know that, don't we?

This could become a very long (and risky) rescue mission. But any chance of success, however small, is better than none at all.
Fingers crossed.

Edit: Perhaps Janika simply went fishing (for herself). She needs to eat too.

Amazing, 6 eggs ... Poor Urmas, he won't rest this year, he's definitely starting his own pond to feed a cute hungry pack ....

... in April Liz didn't believe me 😅..and it's here !! Thank you very much Urmas! That is happiness 🌷

Now that one problem is solved, the next one is about to hit the nest. Whereby I would still like to believe that she feeds herself properly and also gets food for the night. Because if she would be now somewhere in the proximity, she would notice that for a long time nobody is more at her nest.

Now you could also speculate again and say, maybe all this was a farewell gift to the children

I read the recommendations for the cultivation of white storks:... Small storks (up to 2 weeks) should be under a heating lamp or in the sun during the day at an air temperature of 28-33 degrees Celsius. Grown-up chicks covered with thick white down are already hot at this temperature, the temperature of the content should be 20-25 degrees. ... and it's 10 degrees in Estonia now...

Tatjana, that is was worried me too
plus my knowledge that they also leave chicks when they notice human interference.

8:12 nothing has changed. Janika is still absent and storklets are sleeping.

Kotkaklubi:
Situation is changing, so we need to re-calculate possibilities. Nest is not close to settlements to provide an "express first aid" or call for vet ambulance.

Let's wait and see what options there will be. All this is not easy. rather complicated
