AVC (Any video converter) is free. Relatively easy to use.
Avidemux is also free, more sophisticated, but (at least I) took a while to get used to it.

Two more from the front side of the metal-ringed one

And more of the left side

Difficult to get sharp pictures, there was so much quick movement in the whole event

Polly's pictures (5:48) are fine to compare the two ospreys. I do not think this is Irma, Irma's breast shows more brown feathers thank this half ringed osprey. And yes, Irma has short legs.

And I do not think that Irma will not fight for her nest, even when she has got older. This bird does not look old and weak. So if this was Irma, she would have fought

I agree with seira, this female is not Irma. But seiras pictures shows a very beautiful Irma.

It is difficult to take good pictures of the situation. With me at least the quality is not so good...

But at one pic it is hard to imagine that it could be Irma, isn't it?

:hi:
After comparing pics of Irma and the unknown ringed female I think that Irma's dark breast feathers grow lower than the unknown female's colored breast feathers, so that even if the feathers could have become lighter with age, I suppose they should at least "sit" on the same level. :puzzled:

But mogga, it's a great snapshot.
I often regret that I don't have the time and equipment to make videos but your photo from the video is much more impressive.
There is more calm and intensity in the picture than in the video.

I don't think it's Irma.
But I have two theories:
Urmas wants to distract us and concentrate on the essentials (well done) Thanks for that! :2thumbsup:

And on the other hand my human dream bursts to be able to recognize Jaak in case of a fall. It seems that there are actually more of these cases of loss of the plastic ring.
I thought of him briefly but it would be too early for his first return and the plumage is for my eye the one of a younger Osprey but too old for Jaak.
And it's a female, isn't it?
For if I have read correctly, will my own offspring not be tolerated in the nest?

I think also so. and so many feathers cannot be lost at once.

There are many ospreys with only one metal ring in the right wrist - they can have been ringed for example in Finland

Thanks, Owlie!
Since I've been watching her, I've only seen her with two rings or a colored one.

Iiris is calling right now.
Not urgently but nevertheless.
