Oh, I saw only the descent of the ornithologist from the cliff ... It's a pity.

Sorry for announcing it so short-termed, but as the weather was bad and it rained all night and much of the day, it was not sure whether he would be able to climb the ledge ...

Ivo brought a small tail of fish. Iiris grabbed him and flew to the tree. Ivo was left to incubate.
The eggs look whole, but Ivo didn’t turn them. See tomorrow. Today it is already dark and there is no sharpness in the picture.

Iris returned to the nest, swallowing her tail in three minutes. Ivo flew away. Hard day for Iris and Ivo, it rains all day ...

What is interesting about this day is that the majority of the time only Iiris was on the eggs.
From ~ 09:10 a.m. to 21.15 p.m. (so >12 hours in a row!) only Iiris was on the nest - never leaving it.

That's quite a contrast to yesterday, where there were some 6 changes during 6 hours from around 10:35.
So, it seems, the day was not so hard for Ivo
Perhaps it had something to do with the rainy weather. Luckily, the rain was rather light and refreshing.

Few pics from today's hero - Iiris, who sat on the eggs as patient as an osprey can :2thumbsup:

This was a very interesting episode in the morning. Ivo brought a piece of bark and Iiris went on to arrange it from 09:28 to 09:32, more than three minutes.

To me it seemed that she got very excited and playful - she was jumping from one nest side to the other and playing with it exactly in the same way how young osprets sometimes do.

She started to "attack" the bark and carried it from one nest part to the other, tumbling over the eggs multiple times in the process :whistling: She seemed completely lost in this activity for a moment. It was really interesting to watch!

I loved the expressions on Iiris' face when she saw the bark coming in with Ivo, (below) like "Yikes, WHAT are you bringing?" and then in the next photo, her stern look and disgust with Ivo's gift to the nest.
