Yes, vist, at 17:32 (camera time) was a great feeding. :-))
I will post some pics of it.

It is amazing to see how much attention Karl II pays on his chicks, especially on the smallest one.
He observes carefully during each feeding.

17:32:30 Karl II is feeding. The smallest chick is on the left and eating eagerly.


17:33:11 This fish was definitely too big, again. A bit of overestimation.
Karl II was watching it and took it immediately back. This male is unbelievably clever.


17:33:21 All chicks have eaten a lot. Also the youngest one.

18:55 Karl II is feeding. The 3 oldest chicks eat while Karl II stands on the head of his youngest chick!

19:32:55 Kati comes home. Karl II leaves.

20:00 A feeding by Kati. The 3 oldest chicks ate. The youngest didn't manage to get in the first row and tumbled on its back.
By the time it got up and crawled to the front line, Kati was already eating back.

20:34 Another feeding by Kati. This time the youngest chick was in front! It ate a lot. One bigger chick wasn't hungry.
(Owlie, did you mean this feeding? I saw only a pile of sleeping chicks at 20:22 )

21:22 Another feeding by Kati. It was funny to observe. The youngest chick was in front of all! What a little devil!
Kati regurgitated some frogs. The youngest tried to swallow one, but of course, the frog was too big.
Kati ate back the frogs. The oldest chick was still struggling with a frog. It was impossible to swallow. All other chicks were, in turn, pulling at the frog legs.
Kati let them "fight" until 21:25:35, and then took also that frog back.

I took the time from my screen, it should be +/- 1 minute to the cam time ... #4 was behind the others but crawled successfully to the front and got food. The time stamp on the live screen is very difficult to read

Yes, these time stamps are indeed tiny and difficult to read!
I scrolled back once more, but there was no feeding between 20:15 and 20:25.
Never mind, Owlie, it's really not very important.
What counts is that the little chicks have eaten.
Especially for the youngest it's very important at the moment.
So far, everything is going well.

Has anyone counted the number of feedings today? I didn't, but I think there were at least 10.

I’m quite sure, misunderstandings occur mostly only because the English language is not your native language and the subject matter discussed here is not easy. Especially when you can't talk to each other, but only write.
Maybe it is possible to be more forbearing with each other?

Anne7 - I have noticed this same posture in great herons when they are providing shade to their young on a hot day. It's very unusual-looking. Is it hot there today? That's what Kati could be doing.
