Margossa -- those with the blue sky and the big puffy clouds are especially beautiful.

(It might be interesting to set a tripod up and and take a picture every 15 minutes or so -- to see the sky change around our own homes.)

Monday 1 October

6:02
I noticed the first hints of a lightening sky.

6:18
The sky began to get really lovely but my screen went to alternately green and grey
and I ran the "test" and I am about 1.27, sooo. I can hear the waves but all is grey.

I got some more pictures -- mostly by using Jwplayer

at 6:45 I heard ducks -- Mallards maybe as they seemed to go quack quack, but I did not see them.

The light on the horizon is back
Image

Well, I was always thinking about this light - too stationary for a ship. So I went to google maps and searched for Käsmu and found out that there is an island near in the Gulf of Finland, called Mohni - and on Mohni is a lighthouse - so I guess we see the lighthouse light here ... the "A" on the pic is Mohni Island.

The light is back - same position as yesterday and position not changing during the night - I´m pretty sure now that it is the lighthouse from Mohni Island

Lussi :hi:

Yesterday I was so curious about this light that I played "detective" 8-) to find out what it could be

:puzzled:
Bea, I'm sorry but I doubt that this light come's from Mohni lighthouse. It must be more to the left and out of our view. We haven't seen it all the time and lighthouses usually blink, but this light is steady.
I think it's a ship, sometimes they stand there for a long time waiting something, probably their cargo to get ready and waiting in harbour is too expensive.
There's a fine site to follow the ships, I took a snapshot of it. It shows that exactly in this direction of the mysterious light stands a ship Minerva Alice. It seems to be rather far, I don't know if it's possible that we can see it's light.

Ohhhhh Campanula ..... you are destroying my conviction to have solved the question of this light so nicely ....
:rotf:

Thank you for the website of Marinetraffic ..... now I remember it - 2 years ago friends made a holiday trip on a cargoship and we could track them with this site - it was very interesting!

@Lussi
So you are probably right - it is a ship!

One day I saw it (recently) and it seemed more like a white sheet in the sunlight, or a mirror or... it seemed bigger than a pin point of light.

It seems close.

But I have no conviction except that it is interesting.
