Hello, everyone

I was away this morning.

What a surprise!
Our Kati arrived on the nest, yes, it definitely is Kati!
And she accepted the stranger at once!

But I'm anyway very glad to see our Kati. :headroll:

IF Karl is OK, he will most probably not arrive in Karula Park before 12.04 or 13.04.

In 2016, Kati arrived on 05.04, and the first egg was laid on 12.04 (7 days after the first mating)
In 2017, Kati arrived on 09.04, and the first egg was laid on 17.04 (8 days after the first mating)
In 2018, Kati arrived on 08.04, and the first egg was laid on 16.04 (8 days after the first mating)

So this year, the first egg will possibly be laid around 12.04!
That's exactly around the time that we can expect Karl to come home... :slap:

Liz, thank you so much for all reporting and pictures. :2thumbsup:
I have very little time at the moment (troubles with my old father)

I put on the sound, so each of the 13 is heard all over....

And each rime I'm running to the computer to look for a ring and a small bag on the back, but NADA :slap:

Liz, I think you might've missed the 11:36 mating in your count. It was mentioned below the 11:12 double-decker picture.
I checked from the live from 10 - 13 and this is the count as far as I can tell:

12. 10:12
13. 10:24 (attempt; he was on her back, but they didn't connect properly below tails)
14. 10:36
15. 11:12
16. 11:36
17. 11:51
18. 13:01

Good to see you!

Pazi, thanks for the LOOOOONG mating-list.

I'm glad it's easy to tell Kati and the male apart. On the photos above you can see his black "moustache" very clearly. (This pretty macho uses brilliantine every morning, I think. He shines like a mirror.)

pazi, thank you!

what a male

BTW:I did not want to count, but it seemed to me, that there are an extraordinary number of mates in a very short time.
