Lime trees, beginning to look a bit bald.

While raking up some fallen leaves from the lime trees, I came across this strange and alien (to Winchester) fungus.
As Estonia is concentrating on mushrooms recently, I thought I would bring the photos here. Is this a slime mould that was discussed recently?
I have never seen these before. It appeared on an area that had new turf earlier in the year.

Jo - are those lime leaves actually red-pink, or is it the camera / my screen display adding colours?
Limes here in Stockholm are turning colour too (some of them). And the overall impression is of pink-tinged yellow-ochre. But it isn't really; mostly seems to be the visual overall sum of slightly brownish yellow, some light brown and some olive green mixed.
A lot of trees have this reddish-pink touch this autumn, even hazelnuts.
[Or is it my eyes? So what are the true colours of the things we see ...?]

Liis, I don't see any red or pink when I look at the tree. On the picture, I see red brick houses through the tree and on the last pic there is a red car on the opposite side of the road. Is that the source of the red that you see?
Looking out of the window at the tree, I see yellows and browns and still a faded green, here and there!

Agree, there is no proper red in the trees, just a general impression of coppery or salmon-coloured tints, the same as on limes in "real life" here. Will check on other computer's screen!

PS. Once missed a chemical analysis test. Everything pointed to manganese sulfide, but the precipitate colour that should be salmon was a pale yellowish pinkish beige something, so I struggled on. It turned out the course assistants had meant wild salmon flesh colour, not the carotene-coloured pond-grown thing in shops ...

The leaves look pinkish to me, but I think it could be the brown.

Lime trees



Lime trees next to mine - they have lost their leaves earlier. It seems to depend on when the tree was last cut back, I think. Does anyone know what causes such a difference in trees, just a few yards/metres apart?

Sorry for being so late posting this!!
This was taken on the 30th Sept!
I have been waiting for the tree to become spectacular - but it is slowly going from green to brown and dropping leaves - without looking much different!!

Sorry that i lost my way on this topic - husband was ill. He is sort of OK now so here is another lime tree.
This was taken at lest 2 weeks ago.



One week ago, I took this pic of a flowering clematis. I don't remember than being in flower so late in the hyear.


Now for the ivy on the wall - is this a flower of some sort?


I shall start a Winter topic for UK now, starting with my Christmas cake!

I too took pictures of my clematis but it had just two blooms and they bloomed at slightly different times. And my ivy flowers have gone pretty well ti winked -- I try to trim them off so the jays don't plant the seeds thither and yon, but...

I haven't heard any jays here for a while. Magpies, yes.
