Eagle is taking care of nest.
I'm writing this because you mentioned in the morning:
"the camera pictures are refreshed only very rarely or so they are not very lively. besides the nests seem to be empty right now ... i haven't been following this camera... i can't cover them all. "

Your message make me check the situation ....

did you find info there about how often the picture is refreshed? i don't seem to find it... i must be temporarily blind, again. i only see that the camera starts when the temperature rises above -1 degrees C.

Are you sure that you don't restrict pages content with some plug-ins, like NoScript?
Those links are on the right side of the picture, but in Firefox, NoScript disallow by default it.

I found some more facts about Golden Eagle nest camera (Pudasjärvi, Finland)

The eagle camera is controlled remotely from a web server. After detecting movement in the nest, the
camera takes a picture and sends it wirelessly to the server via a GPRS connection. The server program makes the adjustments required for taking the picture and then stores into an archive and database.

yeah, i also understood they have a movement detector there activating the camera, but i somehow understood that there's refreshment of the picture on regular basis, too, like Obs_erves mail showed... i'm not sure??

what happened was that a year ago (or two? edit: it was 2006)

I happened to discover this group in 2006, and watched that whole "operation" - I think it was the first year that the camera was in place. The men in charge were so concerned that they would do the right thing, and later they doubted themselves, and decided that they should not intervene again. But clearly they saved the lives of those two eaglets. I have many pictures saved to my computer ...

i tried to look for pictures of this operation or even some video (from the TV archives) but couldn't find any. are your pictures too difficult to find? it would be great if you could find and post some of them here.
yes, it is a tough decision whether to intervene or not... i think if the species is even slightly endangered then it is OK. and at least in Finland fire fighters are called to come and rescue crows and ducks and tits and squirrels (cats from trees ) etc almost daily around the country and everybody's happy when they come without hesitation! so why not save any animal in trouble (and not try to be too 'scientific' about it)!!

Edit at 22:30. There was a thunder storm around 16 o`clock, and the cam does not update..what a pity! Just hope the Ospreys are ok

The Ospray was protecting the eggs under a heavy rain, it was thunderstorm in the afternoon and also hail stones were falling..

Keep on enlarging it - it is glorious!

An osprey is pandion haliaetus., but not a sea eagle. It is a sea hawk.
A White tailed Eagle is also Haliaeetus.
A Bald eagle is another Haliaeetus.

A golden eagle is Aquila.
Greater and lesser spotted eagles are Aquila.

Can someone tell us what are the differences between these two genus(es)?

The cam is still down, and no news how the Osprays are (from Saarisromeri thread in Finnish).

I have a question: Do you remember to have seen a picture where there was three Osprays in same picture earlier in the spring . I didn't find such one. Have I only made that picture in my head?

People said in Finland that in this picture there is only two osprays. The 'third' wing is the tail of ospray in the air they claimed.. (ame's picture):
