14.26 Ivo & Iiris both back. No fish, no food, no nothing.

Ivo had a metal ring on his right leg but I don't see it now. Is it only me?

My God ... that's really very little
since today in the morning, the two small eat at Miina and Marko, 6 times. Sure, they are a bit bigger, but still the little ones have to eat (smaller portions)

15:50 Ivo was on the nest and leaves.

The breakfish came around 7:00 this morning but Iiris did also feed at 8:30 and 9:10.

Hope Ivo is getting a new fish now

its a whole, nice size fish


Iiris took it immediately - fish is not too big, but better than nothing
chicks are still sleeping

Me too, Summi, when i read back and saw that it took Ivo again 8 hours to bring the next fish

16:37 first chick turns face to Iiris and Iiris starts feeding


16:39 all three with open beak and one is begging louder than the other

I'm always amazed how Iiris takes care of her chicks. Even though the fish is sometimes very small, she tries to feed fairly. At the moment they are all full and dormant. Iiris provides them shade.

Yes, Jenny, even when the fish is small and scarce, she tries her best so that everyone has a good share. A perfect and dedicated osprey mom.

Everything seems to be so right in this nest. The young chicks do not need that much food in the beginning. Ivo spends much more time in the nest than before and Iiris seems to be a very attentive mother. We will watch and learn!

Iiris is feeding all her chicks, even "the littling" - the little one is alert and joining the feeding queue

You are right, the chicks don't need that much for sure but what about Iiris? We shouldn't forget that she needs to eat too. And a lot more than some morsels.
