Good Morning!

The camera had no transmission from yesterday evening until morning. Camera was on at around 4 o'clock in the morning.

Thank you, Swenja, for the site of photos. that looks like the old nest before they rebuilt it nearby. The camera lens is, indeed, tiny. I had wondered because the eagle nest I watched in Washington D.C. (a wild nest located within the Smithsonian lands) has a large circular lens in 3D so it looks the size of a soccer ball. But maybe that is actually the infrared sensor so the nest can be observed at night without disturbing the birds.

There are anti-reflective lens filters for these models. It's hard to say if you don't know exactly. But I think many birds would do crazy things in front of the "mirror picture" or would not come back? If birds react normally, there is no problem with reflection?

The one I am remembering in the U.S. is many feet above the nest and has a black surface all over its globe shape. It provides the second camera view--straight down into the nest--and also the infrared for night viewing. I appreciate the information that you have. Yes, the birds would go nuts! So often I feel as if the birds are looking right at us; I'm curious what they actually look at.

They looked rather young, such cute visitors

What kind of owl is that? I think it is a tawny owl, but I also like to mix it up.

Is an expert here for owls?


edit: Eagle Club Estonia found that they are young Ural owls.

thank you Swenja for the adorable video of the two owls. They must be newly-fledged because they were like kids who found a new, exciting playground. While I was watching I was writing conversations between them in my mind. It could be so funny. And their talk back and forth was cute, too. Jumping all around and talking to each other.
"Hey, brother, look what I found! Come over here."
"I'm busy."
"Come on. You'll like it."
"Just a minute."
"There's a lot of fun things to do here.".....

Why do you think they are Tawny owls? What about long tail and small head. I think they are Ural owlets.
(But I am not sure, just asking if you are sure about your determination.)
