Decorah Trio is here!
DNN6 hatched yesterday, the nest is completed so fingers crossed for the little ones to live in the nest full of food.

Who is the Boss?

P.S. edited

The chick is often alone for hours. Parents perch on the tree or far away. Last two days there was a problem with the food in the nest. Yesterday Mom has brought a fish at the evening finally. Watchers could see that big difference between empty and full crop.

The day is ending, good nite Kid!

P.S. You can see the Potomac river at the top of the last picture.

Today the situation was very similar.
Empty crop and many hours of waiting until fresh food came in the afternoon.

DNN6 has died.
It s crazy with these 3 chicks nests. I dont like them. Excepting Anna and Uku s nest. But all others are hard to watch. So I ve stopped to watch Decorah North nest as soon as heavy rain came. The oldest one pecked the little as it s seen on my previous gif. But sibling rivalry plus bad weather are the worst conditions one can get at the beginning of its very very short life. Poor chick. Poor Sette.

That's very sad to hear, Lubaska. I have read that there last season it was also not good to watch, there were poison from one chick and Mom and an other also died.

What a horrible weather, poor Dad and chicks.
Heavy storm and rain. Dad protects his chicks so good as he can.

Lubaska you can watch this eagle family with three chicks in Minnesota. There was very less bonking and a plenty of food. The parents feed every chick same fair. It's really good to watch. In last season they had also three offsprings, all fledged. Pity is only, that this stream has no audio.

Yes, Birdfriend, I was not able to watch them last year too. The little one was so TINY comparing to other two and was pecked furiously by the eldest. Even not being together with them during day but separated, alone in the other part of the nest. heartbreaking picture. Simply siblicide. But people said "no, the little one had some problems". Noway. The only problem was siblicide when the eldest kept it totally away from food.Birdfriend wrote:That's very sad to hear, Lubaska. This is strange that the same pair had 3 eggs again. I had a bad misgiving that it will be the same this year.
Dad(s) Valor is amazing! Luckily these guys are so big already that I hope rain cant seriously harm them. Nice parents!

BE nest, Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA
Dad's been on a fishing frenzy (April 7th 2017)

This is how it looks like when you got only two kids but you are able to feed dozen of them

Poor Dad, got a poop shot from one eaglet!

At this time it goes in the other direction, for luck.
