Latvian Osprey nest 2019-2023

12:44 he closes his eyes again and again


12:45 is eating a bit of his fish


12:46 and keeps looking out...... but no female not even another osprey to see.....

12:47 he pauses....


....and flies off with his half eaten fish....

17:01 Teo has not yet returned to the nest,
the stump is covered with hay, probably since this morning,
when he brought that bunch of nest material

About 19:25/19:26 i heard an osprey calling near, two times, but no one to see

19:26 someone landed on the cam stand, i think it is the osprey i've heard
19:28 is still on the cam stand, i hear scratching noises, no one to see
19:31 i hear two far calls, of a tawny owl (?)


19:36 a little bird is visiting, a greenfinch ?


or is it a siskin ?



19:43 the osprey (?) is still on the cam stand, moving, but nothing to see, maybe flew off now ?
19:49 no, it is still there, i hear knocking noises from the cam stand and nest is wobbling

20:08 was the last time i heard a noise from cam stand,
but i didn't recognize someone flying off

20:11 Teo flies in


with a piece of bark in his talons


and a briefly calling at landing

20:12 Teo tears pieces from the bark and sprinkles them to the side of nest bowl


20:15 again he looks around (his eyes are ok)


20:16 he flew off and landed on top of this tree on the right

Teo was very busy this morning, has worked very hard.
He has brought in big branches, lichen sticks, a few bunches of hay and other material and a nice whole fish.

06:14 first appears a branch

08:00 Teo flies in with a huge bunch of hay


He is standing on the nest edge, keeps looking around, waiting if someone wants to join him

08:05 then continues nestwork, moves thick branches


08:06 and stirs up a lot of material out of the bowl

08:06 again dives in deep and shuffles with his feet


08:08 he is standing a while looking out and waiting.....


08:09 he flew off again

08:12 he returns with a small bunch of hay

he is chirping, maybe someone is around in the area ?

10:47 Teo landed with a fish but left after some seconds, 11:00 he is back, is eating his fish
11:10 He swallowed the fish tail
11:45 Teo flew away

08:12 he is tracking someone flying behind the cam from the left to the right
if it is a female ???


yes, there is an osprey flying in the upper right corner of the screen


but it only flew by, not interested in the nest and poor Teo :(

Teo continued working on the nest, he is working so hard

So he is working and watching again....

He is away for a while, maybe gone for fishing breakfast

10:47 yep, Teo flies in with a nice whole fish


and after a few seconds takes off with it again

Teo is working and waiting...he doesn't give up...so we don't, too.



he is a bit dirty because he dug again the nest bowl.
