an interesting bird must have just been flying by - a kind of mournful sound, maybe an owl? anyway - sulev looked up and followed with interest for a while
It was Sulev in the nest and calling and Linda came back from her outing. Poor Sulev was also snow covered.
“One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals”(Mahatma Gandhi) "You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals"(Paul McCartney)
oh boy was this a trying day... EDIT: later i noticed that Linda did not come alone! some big bird followed her, probably another eagle.
the wing in the upper picture probably belonged to the other eagle, and was not Linda's.
when Linda had just landed the other eagle's wing flashed in the top of the picture.
7:31 someone called from near and Sulev replied. he got up to turn eggs... but lays down again. it sounded like Linda is near or did she drop by to say hello?
there's surprisingly little snow on the nest, considering that it was snowing hard for hours yesterday. it must have been very close to zero so that most snow melted as soon as it came down.
