these are tree pics of Kati please look at her eye area

This is 3x Kati, yes.
Those three pictures of Kati, are they all the same years pictures?
In picture number 1 she looks happy. In picture number 2 (middle picture) I think that her eye environment looks a little bit different.
In picture number 3 she looks a little bit sad, or at least thoughtful. :whistling:

Difficult... but probably I have to believe that Kati is in those pictures, and have to believe that Kati is now in the nest with Karl the second. So... like said… maybe also a little bit of suspence is coming if Karl the first still arrives to his nest.

He works in the forest. He has to be really strong. I hear breaking branches. This big green branch was also freshly cut.
8:05 is back with a twig

chrisitz :hi:
I think, she knows for sure that it is another male. She would recognize Karl immediately when he comes back.

I had to accept that Ozols has not returned, now Tobias has stayed away ... We will always miss somebody

How can we know anything about Ozols when the camera from his nest was stolen by somebody and last year we didn't watch him??

asteria, in 2017 the nest was occupied, but it was not Ozols. Ozols did not come all summer!

EDIT: BTW .. I have to look in my videos.- There were strange fights.(at Ozols nest in 2017) I think it was the female who grabbed the male at the head and tried to throw him out of the nest. The male sat in the nest, the female came and grabbed his head. (Before that she preened his head) That looked very strange. They do it when they want to throw a chick out of the nest

It is a defending - EDIT: I'm pretty sure now. It was a defending. Kati and the Male have looked up. There was someone. I also saw a black shadow flying in the forest

10:26 all is normal again ... Maybe another stork flew by.

10:41 both are preening themeselves

10:41 and they mate

What I'm wondering is that Kati now has a dark head. The years before, her feathers were more brown. It seems she has completely changed her head feathers (molting) . The feathers turn in light brown in the hot sun of Africa. They fade.
