They left the bowl 11:50 and by now it's more than 15 minutes (total 25 min). With this cold
In a chat explained to us what eggs specially hold on cold until all are born. They so slow down their development that chickens had less age difference.
In this regard it is interesting to me if they still continue to cool eggs, then they know about the third egg? Or just in case? :puzzled:

i have read somewhere that eggs tolerate cold in the early stage of incubation. later they don't. i don't know how early is "early". i also don't have any idea if Milda could know if one more egg is coming or not. it is very difficult to think that Raimis would know.

16:39 Milda called. Raimis replier from nearby. it sounded as if he is behind our left shoulder rather near.
Milda called more and Raimis talked to her. Milda called more.
Image

... then nothing more.
16:44 Milda got up, shook her wings, rolled the eggs and shook her wings again.
Image

it has been raining all the time. it started raining even harder. :slap:

Well... I remember that it's only with the first egg; they don't need to incubate it.

But after, they need to incubate.

good morning!
thank you for the reports! :2thumbsup:

Milda spent her relief shift 6:52 - 7:38 in the favourite tree. she never left there. during both shift changes they sang in the tree.
after Milda had returned to the eggs Raimis flew away. he took right after Milda had landed and flew to the forest in the back of the meadow. i think he flew in the forest.
i wish they'd quit this habit. i don't actually wish to see the eggs alone even for this short time.

i think there are new birds' voices in the forest. a mistle thrush?

Raimis has called a few times.

9:38 (a few seconds before) a jay flew away from the tree top.
9:38:30 one more jay was on the top. it made a buzzZ! voice. i know that, it was a jay.
then there was a bird calling pee .. pee-wee, pee .. pee-wee..., on and on for a long time. i don't know what bird it is..? :puzzled:
not a peewit = lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) i think... - it had to be a jay.

9:41:40 loud jay's shrieks! was the bird a jay all the time?
