 Kitty we are glad to have you back! And more so that this time the reason was not you being more ill again, but "only" being unable to log on!
Yes, that LSE dad was really funny! I hope we can see a bit more from them next year!

Lucy wrote:Hello Everybody :hi:

Last night I sent an e-mail to the contact address of the LSE project in Poland http://www.orlikkrzykliwy.pl/en/ including (among others) two questions :

1) Is there a chance to run the live webcam available on the internet in the next breeding season?

2) What was the further course of the breeding season 2012, i.e., whether the parents were able to successfully raise their chick to depart on migration?

So far, no response. If I get an answer, I will share with you.
Hello everybody :hi:

I spoke today with Mrs. Katarzyna Gurowska which is coordinator of the project "Protection of the lesser spotted eagle in selected Natura 2000 areas".

1) Is planned to launch live webcam in the next breeding season (success is dependent on funding)
The camera will probably be no audio.
2) Parents and chick happily depart on migration
3) The parents left in the nest of spruce branches before their migration.
4) Lesser Spotted Eagles of the Bialowieza Forest and Knyszynska Forest they are haven't transmitters
5) The female's name - Ploska, the male's name - Suprasl
6) There are videos from all over the breeding season and will be placed on the website within 2 weeks.

The rest of the information I will be receive on my e-mail - I will to wait patiently.

The second project is the name "Greater Spotted Eagle - a bird like no other!"
Greater Spotted Eagles have transmitters and we can track their migration route.

I found also other website about the Greater Spotted Eagle http://aqc.aquila-it.pl/index.php?lang=en

I'm sorry but my English not is good

Thank you very much, Margossa! The GSE site I have linked only today as I got into touch with Kordian Bartoszuk who coordinates the project there (and is an old friend of our Urmas!). But whatever information you get on the LSE is very welcome too!

Margossa, thank you very much for your efforts!

I´m curious and hopeful that it will be possible to follow the nest with LSEs next season - even there should be no sound .... :shake:

The topic About Nimetu, from Dr. Madis's topic has been changed to an Announcement. So it is at the top of the Conversations category now.

viewforum.php?f=8

to give it more prominence now that we are doing a petition.

Tomorrow on Arte and maybe ? WDR T.V stations at 19:00 hrs you can see a film all about
The secret Life in the Gravel Pits in Alsace filmed by the French biologist Serge Drummond and we can learn more about the lives of The Crested Grebes and other waterbirds and fish ( brochet) too. It took Serge D. four years and 500 dives. He had hoped to run a film of 90 mins but sadly for him the TV stations wanted only 52 mins.It nearly broke his heart to have to eliminate so many sequences. So don't forget to tune in tomorrow Friday 2 Nov. to see Jungle d'eau douce at 19h00 :2thumbsup:

edit; A day or so later I can probably show you iplayer recording..

I taped it and watched it today morning! Really interesting, and also a bit distressing to see the impact human being has on nature at times! Thanks for letting us know.

I have a TV tip for those who can see German 3rd programs - today afternoon at 14:40 in RBB there is:

and at MDR there is at
