Mona offers a bite, but the chicks are engrossed in their beak play. Mona is standing too far away...they don't even notice.
So Mona changes her position. She moves closer to the chicks, and now they eat.
Still, they aren't very hungry.
Mona finishes feeding at 8:43. She swallows another leg herself and then covers the chick and egg.

10:45/46 Mona leaves the nest and brings a piece of bark with her.
She places it between the chicks.

10:56/57 It looked and sounded as if Mona had flown into the forest at Miks's signal.
But somehow not.
She quickly returns, carrying a piece of bark, which she places on the chicks.

12:03 Now it's clear – Miks is calling and Mona is communicating with him. She leaves the nest and Miks enters.
He looks around, notices something, and leaves again.
Mona returns.
Somewhere there's a pair of birds that unfortunately won't breed successfully this season.
It's the third chick to be carried into the nest here. Mona also has moss in her talons. From the nest, picked up from the forest floor?

Mona feeds until 12:11
Nothing is left. Mona eats a large portion herself.
There's not much to see of egg #3.

It's been raining for quite a while.
Birds are chirping...drops falling, the cuckoo, and sometimes the chicks chirping.

The persistent rain continued to dominate the day.

Late in the evening, at 21:14., Mona leaves the nest. Miks seems to be close.
She returns three minutes later with food, and the chicks are fed.
21:26Mona finishes feeding, cleans her toe of food residue, and covers the chicks and the egg.
Egg #3 was barely visible. So, is there any prospect of another chick?

08:57 At Mik's signal, Mona leaves the nest and returns with food.
The chicks actively crawl toward Mona and eat hungrily.
A long and enjoyable feeding session until 09:17.
Mona eats the leg and another portion of the food again and gathers the chicks back under her.

15:50 Miks brings food for his family.
Mona immediately takes the food and begins feeding her chicks.
The little beaks are stuffed for almost 20 minutes until the first bundle of joy collapses.
Mona eats something bulky again. Probably a leg. And covers the full bundles of joy and the egg. And calls ...

20:06 Mona leaves the nest and returns two minutes later.
She pulls the food that Miks brought to the nest that afternoon. (I pressed the wrong button to record = no picture.)
She feeds the little ones again and then covers them again.
The evening remains quiet, and the dwarfs are warm under Mona's breast.

Hello,
Polly
and all.
The third chick has not hatched and there is no hole in the egg.
There might be a problem or it might not hatch.
Greetings

Emiliano, I send you my best wishes! Nice to read you!
If you have the chance, listen to the moment at 12:36 during today's feeding. Just after Mona calls.
I think the egg is talking.
?
I would wait until that day.
Unfortunately, I have to work late again today, but I'm very excited.
Have a nice day!
I'll document the day in full later. Unfortunately, there's no other option at the moment.

Polly
I don't know if it's from the egg.
If she has a weakness in her beak and can't break the shell, that could be the possible cause of the delay.

I don't know either.
But the egg babble sounds like a muffled quacking chirp, while the chicks chirp at a higher frequency.
I put on headphones and listened through it. I hear it again and again. Too rarely, but still.
Okay, let's go.
05:12/13 Mona, still affected by the bad weather front, leaves the nest.

09:34/35 Mona observes and calls with begging calls/warning calls

10:15 The chicks are restless.
Their chirping can be heard repeatedly, and they're "rioting" under Mona.
10:23 Mona stands up and walks to the edge of the nest.
The little ones are biting each other with their beaks.
The beak fighting also means social contact. Which is peaceful and positive.
But right now, I think they're looking for food.
