The chicks are twittering as the camera moves on. Whether Kaia was at the nest is uncertain.

The beaks look clean.

what is the time stamp of your picture?![]()

16:05 two butterflies!![]()
one black on the left side of the nest, and an orange-red butterfly on the right side.
correction: three! two dark butterflies on the left. i think that they were purple emperors.

This is not a captured screenshot. This is a video image that I already enlarged in the video program and saved as an enlarged single image.ame wrote: July 8th, 2022, 5:37 pm Swenja, how do you capture and edit your pictures then?![]()
your picture was only a part of the whole picture.
(i use Paint for editing. there copy&paste is possible and easy.)
i'm afraid that i don't understand how your method works but that's ok.Swenja wrote: July 8th, 2022, 6:22 pm This is not a captured screenshot. This is a video image that I already enlarged in the video program and saved as an enlarged single image.
Detail hits come out of a video better than I would click on random screenshots.
the 'roundness' changes depending on how the butterfly arranges her 4 wings, plus on our viewing angle..balistar wrote: July 8th, 2022, 5:55 pmame, yep, the second purple emperor joined the first at 16.05.05,
and i'm not sure if the orange butterfly that appeared on the right side at 16.05.11 is the same as the one that Swenja captured in her picture.
I took a screenshot at 16.05.11 (like the one your video pic shows) and i think this orange butterfly has a more "round" shape.... there are really a few suitable ones, so possibly these two are different kinds.
Yes, it was a lot!
I edit the frame right away in the video program. That's all.ame wrote: July 8th, 2022, 7:12 pm i record the stream and then look for best frames in the video and then save them as single shots. after that i can edit the pictures.
it's a shame that we don't know at what time Swenja took her picture.
this one looks most similar to Argynnis lathonia.
Thanks ame.ame wrote: July 8th, 2022, 7:12 pm ...
